How to classify refractory materials for crucible of medium frequency induction electric furnace and its characters
Lining for medium induction electric furnace can be divided into three categories of alkaline, neutraland acidic according to chemical performance :
Alkaline crucible is made in alkaline refractory, for example magnesite clinker etc.Alkaline crucible mainly is used to smelt high-alloy steel and so on, the characters of resistant high temperature,lower anti heat-shock, be applied to succession smelting work.
Neutral crucible is made in neutral refractory,for example high alluminium, corindon etc. Neutral crucible mainly used to smelt high-alloy steel, alloy etc, characters of resistant high temperature, higher anti-heat shock, can’t be applied to continuous smelting furnace.However, it is used to consider the influence of the interaction between molten steel and the crucible material in the vacuum induction furnace.
 Crucible made of acid refractory material is called acid crucible.for example quartz sand, zircon sand, etc. Acidic crucible only applied to smelt iron casting and plain carbon steel with characters of lower refractoriness, better anti-heat shock, can’t be applied to succession production smelting.
