How to smelt Nickel copper using castable refractory?
Nickel copperis copper base alloy with added nickel, shows slivery white,has metallic lustre, so is named nickel copper.It may be smelted inner electric induction furnace with power frequency with iron core and furnace liner is constructed high alumina or magnesium refractory materials .In smelting processing,The furnace liner is used quartz sand of mainly materials with sio2 who will be corroded ,because NiO2 and Cu2O belonging basic anhydride produced by oxidationboth can react with SiO2 ,and then furnace liner will be corroded. The nickel content is higher, the more serious corrosion to the lining of the melt. In the process of smelting nickel in copper nickel alloy,they easy to absorb hydrogen, content of hydrogen in the melt increases with the increase of nickel content.On ordinary copper smelting in graphite crucible,even temperature get outside 1400℃,the carbon contents of metal will rapidly go up to 0.03-0.05%,and more and more. Using charcoal as covering agent processes nickel copper smelting, It takes more than 20 minutes in metals contact with charcoal
