Discussion of the Life of Acidic Liner refractory cement for Medium-Frequency Induction Furace

 Induction furnace lining refractory cement have strict requirements to make.
1) enough refractoriness. As induction furnace lining materials, the refractoriness should be higher than 1700 z, softening temperature should be higher than 1 > B0Z.
2) good thermal stability. Because TiDuCha lining wall inside and outside temperature is very large, and affected by the tapping, feeding and the furnace, the furnace wall temperature is always changing, subsequently and produce volume expansion and contraction, so the production lining refractory cement should have excellent thermal stability.
 3 ) High chemical stability. Chemical stability of lining materials and there is a close relationship between the service life of lining material and lining material should have certain strength at low temperature, at high temperature is not easy to decompose and reduction, in the process of smelting, not easy and slag formation of low melting point material, not with molten iron and additives to produce chemical reaction, make the hot metal composition changes.
4) High mechanical performance. In the state of low temperature to the impact of the burden, under high temperature condition to withstand the static pressure of molten iron and powerful electromagnetic stirring effect, under the long-term washout use of hot metal wear resistant and corrosion resistant.
5) good insulation. Under high temperature condition of lining materials shall not conduct electricity, otherwise it will cause the leakage and short circuit and cause accidents.
6) construction performance is good, good sintering performance, construction and maintenance is convenient. For intermediate frequency furnace for melting producing gray iron, ductile iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel and cast copper users, considering the above factors, and through the practice has proved that using quartz sand is ideal lining material. Using quartz sand refractoriness is 1720 z, after phase transformation process, greatly improve the thermal physical parameters. Knot of acid lining of low cost, extensive and sources of raw materials, high temperature and high strength, strong resistance to thermal shock resistance, good sintering performance.
Additives in the quartz sand
Boric acid (H3BO3) are generally used in quartz sand material or boron anhydride (B2O3) as additive, main effect is to reduce the sintering temperature. Because of quartz sand material sintering temperature is higher, boric acid decompose when heated, exists in the form of B2O3 in sand material. At 1000 ℃ ~ 1300 ℃ of B2O3 and formation of low melting point compounds such as sand material of SiO2 (SiO2 ・ B2O3 melting point is 500 ℃), thereby reducing sintering, melting point, improve the sintering conditions, improve the quality of sintering. And after sand material with boric acid, can reduce the sand materials in the sintering process of volume change resulted from the heat bilges cold shrink crack. But because the boric acid generate large amounts of water vapor in the process of thermal decomposition, such as not discharge in time, easy to produce in the bottom of the furnace lining honeycomb pores SD - A series of quartz sand dry vibrating material has boron anhydride (A product of boric acid dehydration) as additive.
The use of different temperature on boron anhydride or boric acid addition amount also have different requirements. As for the amount of additives such as overmuch, can reduce the melting point of refractory material and also can make lining at higher sintering temperatures sintering layer thickness, volume change, affect the service life of the furnace work to bring down the difficulty .
